Dispersed camping is permitted anywhere along Lake Wappapello Trail. There is also a backpack camp located on the trail for larger groups.

Backpackers must register before starting their trip. Camping is free, but registration is required.

Overnight parking for hikers is allowed at the main trailhead. Trailhead location: 36.94683, -90.34408.

The Wappapello Section of the Ozark Trail can be accessed near the park. More information is available from the Ozark Trail Association.
