Park Day is a nationwide initiative that promotes volunteerism at parks and historic sites, especially those with battlefields. It is sponsored by the American Battlefield Trust, whose mission is to preserve America's hallowed battlegrounds and educate the public about the history and significance of these locations.
Battle of Lexington's 2026 Park Day event will focus on preparing the site grounds for a new hiking trail. Volunteers will use loppers to remove invasive species and clear vegetation from the edges of the future trail. Signup will take place in the visitor center from 9:30-10 a.m. Volunteer work will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
