6/6/2026 | Rock Island Trail State Park | Windsor, MO.
Celebrate National Trails Day by joining knowledgable park staff for a guided hike on the Rock Island Trail. The Rock Island Trail is part of a larger rail-to-trail system within Missouri's state park system. From Pleasant Hill in northwest Missouri, it runs southeast to Windsor, where it connects to the Katy Trail. Additional segments of the Rock Island are being developed east of Windsor. The section from Pleasant Hill to Windsor is managed by Knob Noster State Park.
This easy hike will begin at the Windsor trailhead at 10 a.m. It will cover approximately 1 mile on flat surfaces. Along the way, there may be opportunities to see deer, squirrels, and other wildlife.
This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome, but children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash. Participants should dress for the weather and bring snacks, water and insect repellent.
The hike is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. For updated information, check Knob Noster State Park's Facebook page or call the park office at 660-563-2463.
