Geminid Meteor Shower Watch Party

Join us to witness the Geminid meteor shower, one of the biggest meteor showers of the year! Dress warmly for a night of meteor viewing and stargazing, and come learn more about this cosmic spectacle.

This event will take place in the Emory Melton Inn parking lot, just south of the park office along Highway 112. The inn restaurant will be selling warm grab-and-go food and drinks during the event. 

This come-and-go-style event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Attendees are encouraged to bring flashlights, lawn chairs, and money for food and drinks. Telescopes and binoculars are welcome but are not necessary, as the shower can be seen with the naked eye.

In the event of precipitation or thick cloud cover, the viewing will be canceled. Cancellation announcements will be posted on the park's Facebook page and the Park and Site Status Map.
