Birding Basics at the Homestead

Join us at the Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead on Sunday, Sept. 13, for an afternoon of birding. Learn the fundamentals of bird-watching and familiarize yourself with the birds of the homestead through a series of short exercises followed by a bird walk along the site trails. The event will start at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m.

This free program is designed for people of all ages and experience levels. Participants should dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Binoculars and other birding equipment are welcome but not necessary. No equipment will be provided.

Participation is limited to 20 individuals, and registration is required. You may register online or by calling the site office at 417-751-3266.

Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic is located at 7850 N. state Highway V near Ash Grove. We will meet at the picnic shelter, adjacent to the main parking lot.
